I hate to be the one to remind you, but tomorrow’s Monday. It isn’t all bad though. In the midst of the Machado-Pedroia drama, the Orioles managed to take two of three from the Sox.

Isn’t it nice being able to enjoy a competitive series against your division rival? Remember those awful 15 years when the Orioles were the AL East’s doormat? Those were some dark days. Luckily for O’s fans, Buck Showalter came flying in off the set of Baseball Tonight to turn the franchise around.

At the end of the 2011 season, Buck Showalter lit a fire under his ball club. Even though the post season was out of the question, the O’s were finally playing inspired baseball. Game 162 of the 2011 season presented the Orioles with an opportunity to eliminate a floundering Red Sox team. With one swing of the bat, fifteen years of misery ended. Robert Andino would deliver the blow that knocked out the Sox and put the Orioles on a road to success.
